The journey inward is the bravest one.
The journey inward is the bravest one.
My name is Shirin Pradhan, and I am the founder of Journey Within Therapy, a clinically trained counsellor with a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology, dedicated to supporting individuals navigating anxiety, trauma, emotional challenges, and life transitions.
I believe healing happens when people feel safe, heard, and truly understood. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practice, creating space for you to explore your experiences with curiosity and care while building deeper self-awareness and practical tools for lasting emotional wellbeing.
My work draws on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Somatic approaches, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and DBT-informed strategies. I am also currently completing training in EMDR, an evidence-based therapy for trauma processing.
My hope is that Journey Within Therapy becomes a place where you feel free to explore your inner world, move through difficult experiences, and grow toward the life you want.

Journey Within Therapy was created as a space to pause, reflect, and reconnect because life's experiences can leave us feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of how to move forward. This is a place to explore those experiences with curiosity, understanding, and care.
Healing looks different for everyone. Whether you are navigating anxiety, trauma, or a significant life transition, therapy here is tailored to your unique needs offering insight into your thoughts, emotions, and patterns while building practical tools for resilience and meaningful change.
The approach is grounded in evidence-based, trauma-informed care, drawing on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Somatic approaches, Internal Family Systems (IFS), DBT-informed strategies, and EMDR. Every step of the journey is shaped around you.
Our thoughts shape the way we experience the world, and sometimes those thoughts work against us. CBT helps you identify the patterns of thinking that fuel anxiety, low mood, or self-doubt, and gently challenges them with more balanced perspectives. Through structured yet collaborative exercises, you develop practical tools to shift unhelpful cycles and respond to life's challenges with greater clarity and confidence.
Trauma and stress don't only live in the mind, they settle in the body too. Somatic therapy works with the physical sensations, breath, and nervous system responses that words alone cannot always reach. By tuning into what the body is holding, we create space to release stored tension, restore a sense of safety, and build a deeper connection between your inner experience and your sense of self.
Some experiences leave a mark that talk therapy alone struggles to reach. EMDR is an evidence-based approach designed to help the brain reprocess distressing memories so they lose their emotional charge. Using guided bilateral stimulation, we work directly with the memory itself, not just the feelings around it, allowing painful experiences to be integrated rather than relived.
Sometimes what we carry has no name, and that's okay. You don't need the right words, a clear diagnosis, or a perfectly formed reason to reach out. Not every struggle fits neatly into a category, and not every pain is easy to describe. If something brought you to this page, if something in you is quietly asking for support, that is enough. Whatever you are moving through, you deserve care. If you don't see your experience reflected above, please don't let that stop you from getting in touch.
You belong here, whatever you are carrying.
Come as you are. That has always been enough.
